Rene Arkin joined Southeast in January of 2017. She serves as the Adult Education teacher helping folks obtain their HSE diploma, career pathway choices, and employment. She is a licensed Mathematics teacher and School counselor. Rene also brings Director level experience from her years in workforce development. She loves helping adults with career counseling and reaching their full potential. When she’s not working, you’ll probably see her kayaking, hitting a farmer’s market, or biking down the Monon.read more

Dawn serves as our Community Coach focused on adults. She’s our super customer service champion! Her natural ability to talk to anyone makes her well positioned to be the first coach our neighbors meet. Dawn is a constant learner, who is always taking a course to learn something new. Rachel serves at SECS as one of our fantastic employment coaches. Currently, she is a student at IUPUI, working towards her degree. She comes from a background of data, customer service and technology, using her skills to serve our neighbors.read more
Tom is impassioned about giving back to his community. He is a graduate of Butler University and served afterwards as a Public Ally. He works at SECS as one of our premier financial coaches, working with our neighbors to help them achieve their goals.read more
Sam serves in Education Coaching and Youth Services at Southeast Community Services. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Purdue University and a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. Most of his reading is on social justice, psychology, spirituality and humor. He can be seen around town preforming improv comedy with INDYPROV.read more

SECS operates as a Center for Working Families (CWF), which is a comprehensive approach to employment, self-sufficiency, and financial stability. Our work uses the Co-Active Coaching model to guide our work with clients (neighbors). Co-Active coaching is a model of being with neighbors that challenges participants and coaches to be intentionally collaborative and active in solving neighbor problems.
